I'm a day late on this but Toonami has returned to saturday nights as a part of adult swim. Anime fans rejoice!

Ah, that's kind of nifty. What shows will they be playing?

I probably won't watch it though. I buy dvds or watch all of my anime on my computer nowadays. Toonami did play a key role in getting my anime hobby in gear though, so it was important to me back in the late 90s.

12:00 a.m. – Bleach
12:30 a.m. – Deadman Wonderland
1:00 a.m. – Casshern Sins
1:30 a.m. – Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
2:00 a.m. – Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG
2:30 a.m. – Cowboy Bebop

It looks like they want to acquire more shows but right now are very low on money. Hopefully things work out.

Interesting.

Seems like they are going to keep an action oriented lineup like they mostly used to. Though they do have some newer material. Brotherhood, Casshern sins and Deadman Wonderland especially are relatively new. They also keep the appeal of the older Toonami crowd with Bebop and GitS.

Doesn't look like a bad lineup but a lineup that's purely revolves around action wouldn't appeal to me much. I wouldn't expect to see any cutesy shows but more comedy would be nice. Either way I probably wouldn't be following it as my anime watching tastes and methods have changed drastically since I used to watch Toonami.

Thanks for the reply though! I appreciate it. It was interesting.

No problem Regulus! I started watching their two new shows and they are somewhat dark. Deadman Wonderland is pretty twisted and Casshern Sins is about robots and the end of the world and just feels eerie. They're still entertaining to keep up with though.

I'm sure they could be solid shows. I just don't pick up action or horror titles very often.

My bread and butter for anime is mainly Comedy, Romance, and Slice o'life these days. Though I'll mix in something outside that range here and there. I still enjoy a good scifi series and military oriented stuff once in awhile.

Comedy is always good and a good romance turns me to mush.  I always find it aggravating in a video game or an anime when a relationship is shy and never reaches the big moment of truth.

Sounds like you'd really enjoy Fooly Cooly. It's kinda like all those things in one, sort of.

I can't be the only person who thinks FLCL is just a tad overrated... nope I probably am.

lol, I have already watched FLCL. Honestly I thought it was awful. It was just too over the top and ridiculous.

Gainax's work has always been very hit or miss for me regardless of whether they were joint projects with other studios...

Yeah it's one of the most senseless shows I've ever seen. I think it's geared towards hyperactive people like me who love the fast and crazy.

On a side note, Bobobo is the most random anime I ever watched. It was actually too weird for me and I needed breaks from it as it went on. Sometimes it was funny but other times I literally said "What the Hell?"

I say "What the hell?!?" all the time when watching things.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes its actually good, most often though its just a sign of bewilderment. it's kind of hard to explain.

True. I usually say it when I'm truly dumbfounded and it takes a lot to surprise me. I usually say "oh god" or "oh my god" at plot twists. I try to get into the anime as much as I can, really immerse myself in the world. It's great fun.
