Hahaha, it seems like everybody around here has procrastinated to get their licenses.... myself included. >_>

I'm the one who voted "maybe later." It's a great idea, but I won't be there.

Well, like Reg said, its something to look forward to sometime in the future.

(PS: Start studying for that license and start saving for a ride or at least a plane ticket. . . NAO.)

I procrastinated with my license, and I was screwed when I finally took my road test. I failed the first one. Passed the second one. It was an urgency. I'd be kind of difficult to commute to college without a lisence.

Moral of the story: Don't wait too long. :P

If we ever met at an anime convention.... I would definately shell out some money to build a Plasma Bomber outfit including a heavily modified motorcycle helmet and some form of metal suit. That way, you could all easily recognize me. :hilarious:

Hey, I never got to be a kid! Or at least, I wasted my own childhood. >_>

Sounds awesome to me! An anime convention would definitely work out well cause then if things fall through and not everyone can come there will still be stuff to do for everyone.

Do we have any suggestions on which anime convention? Perhaps one as close to as many people as possible.

Oh and Zaphe that costume would rock!

is the next school year (08-09) your last one? I'll start reading up on the anime cons in the california area this week, and maybe if there's one in the summer of 09 we could consider that.

well it would be an expensive trip for someone like me from the east coast to go to the west coast for an anime con. So 2009 might be better then 08 since It'll give me and others the time to save up for it and prepare ourselves. If we planned one for this coming summer thats only about 7-9 months away and i don't think a lot of us would be able to go with such a short preparation time.

Maybe I'm wrong about this? What do you guys think? Summer of 2009 at an anime con in California? I just checked out Animecons.com and there are a number of cons during the summer for this year. They don't have any listed for 2009 yet but if they generally take place around the same time each year we've got 4 possible choices!

http://www.animecons.com/cgi-bin/events/search.cgi?pg=1&kw=&t=&mo=&yr=2008&st=CA&co=USA&at=

Most of these cons are pretty big events too

Fanimecon, may, had 12,000 attendees in 07

Anime Expo, july, had 44,000 attendees in 07

Comic-con, july, had 125,000 attendees in 07

Mahoucon, augest, this is a new con

It's possible, but extremely difficult to plan a trip to Cali. Nearly all the money I make goes straight towards college. I'm finding it to be hard just to get to a con in my own state.

we should have everyone vote on

1) Which Timezone is suitable for everyone to be able to get to and we can decide which one to go to according to the most votes.
2)After we decide which timezone(such as central, mountain, atlantic, etc) we choose some anime cons that will be within that timezone (such as pacific-california, oregon, atlantic-new york, Pennsylvania, etc)

blah just reading that is confusing, but you guys know what i mean right? hehe.

AVAILABILITY

I'm open to any time zone. Obviously I'd prefer the east coast but I'll go anywhere in the US. It's not too big a deal for me if I have a couple of years to prepare for it. You guys let me know what time zone is ideal for you and if other time zones are possible for you to travel to. Here's my availability as an example.

Preferred: East Coast
Will settle for: West Coast, Central
Unable to go to: Out of the country (probably)

So you guys let me know your availability and I'll tally them up! Then based on that we'll probably go with what we have the most of in a combination of preferred and will settle for with preferred having more value most likely.

Preferred:East Coast
Willing: Central
Unable: West Coast/OOC.

As long as I don't have to fly, I might be able to pull it off. As a college student, I don't have enough cash to afford a plane and a hotel in a Big City.

I'm definitely interested, anywhere in the country is fine. I've also been putting off getting my license, until the start of this semester when I figured out how much of a pain it is to go to school on the cat bus.

My parents don't like to travel really far. Especially overnight trips. Though I may be able to pull SOME strings. I think this is the best I could do.

Preferred: East Coast
Will settle for: Central (to a certain extent)
Unable to go to: Canada. Basically out of country at all. South of Georgia, North of Maine. Anywhere west of the Central time zone.

Well, many people seem to have forgotten, but I hope my mentioning of it in the other thread will revive the interest in this plan.

As for myself, I still need a driver's license and a car(Though i could just rent one). I still WANT to go if it's in the air. I'll probably sticky this and update personally to remind people.
