I'm sure a lot of you know Hayao Miyazaki and his movie works. So I listed all of them that he did. My personal favorites are Castle in the Sky, Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle.

I have yet to see all of them, but my favorite's either Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind or Princess Mononoke. I also liked Ponyo and while I also kind of liked Spirited Away, I find it to be a tad bit overrated.

I've seen all of them and own the soundtracks for all of them except for Ponyo.

One of my friends really likes Miyazaki, but I personally have never seen any of his films.

I guess you really aren't much of an anime guy, huh Zaphe?

You're missing out though. Of what I have seen, all of his movies are good (some of them being exceptionally good). Most anime fans would agree to that statement as well.

Oh, I don't have anything against anime. I just don't watch a lot of anything... I probably wouldn't watch (m)any movies if it weren't for people wanting me to watch them with them. Not that I don't enjoy movies, I just don't watch a lot.

I'll have to ask that friend of mine about Miyazak next time he's in town. He'd probably watch some of the movies again.

Miyazaki does great stuff. I've enjoyed all the films I've watched by him so far, except Totoro... i wasn't too crazy abotu Totoro for some reason.. These are the ones I've watched listed from favorite to least favorite.

Nauiscaa of the Valley of the Wind - My first series by him. It wasn't the first film i saw but I read the manga back in my early high school days. This is like... 03-04 i think. Then I eventually made an hour long trek on foot to the store one of the first days it was out to get my copy of the DVD. Interesting memory... lol

Princess Mononoke - My 2nd favorite film. I think it was the first film by him I watched. Either this or Spirited Away. I watched them around the same time.

Howl's Moving Castle - This one was great too. I also got it the week it came out.

Whisper of the Heart - This isn't on your list by the way, there are a few missing, but you got pretty much all the main ones. This one wasn't as popular as those but it's pretty good. worth checking out if you can find it.

Ponyo - saw recently was very cute and fun to watch, but the story was a bit weak.

Spirited Away - Really weird, but also good.

My Neighbor Totoro - I couldn't get into this one but i have seen it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The next ones I'd like to watch the most by him are Castle in the Sky and Kiki's Delivery Serivce

I only added the ones that were directed by Miyazaki, and Whisper of the Heart was directed by Yoshifumi Kondo if I'm not mistaken. I saw Whisper of the Heart, but for some reason I didn't care about it.

ahh, all right. I wasn't sure if you were trying to list all the ones he was involved in or not since you got pretty much all the well known ones.

Didn't care for Whisper of the Heart huh? Oh well, no biggy. I thought I'd mention it since I enjoyed it and it wasn't on the list.

I didn't say that you did, nor was that my intent. Sorry if it came across that way.

But yeah, Miyazaki films are cool and such.

Whisper of the Heart had a decent plot, but it just wasn't my type.

There was another film that Miyazaki directed that I didn't add but I don't think it's a Studio Ghibli film, it's called the Castle of Cagliostro or something like that, it's a Lupin III film and arguably the best film I read.

I'm not much of a Lupin fan personally but I've heard that the movie is supposed to be pretty good and it seems popular with the older anime crowd.

This page contains listings of everything Miyazaki worked on...

Yeah, it said that that movie is the best Lupin III film. I only saw the abridged series by KaiserNeko on youtube but I'll watch the real thing (lol) soon.
