How many of you guys here know the flash cartoon by Mondo Media, Happy Tree Friends? I just started watching it and it's not that bad. The show is about these animals who usually do everyday activities. For those of you don't know, it looks like a kid's shows, but it's actually incredibly violent depicting violent deaths of the characters (after all, it states in the official website that it's not recommended for small children.

I've always wanted to see Happy Tree Friends but I've never got the chance. It looked hilarious.

I have to admit, some of the characters in that show are cute. The episodes are usually split into 2 parts.

ah, so the episodes are split into 2 10-15 minute segments?

It did look like the type of show that would be composed of short one shot stories.

No, the episodes are usually like 6 or 7 minutes long, sometimes it's even 1-2 minutes long, but they split it in half. I watched the 1st 2 episodes today and the episodes were split into 3 minute segments. @ Crystal, that show is violent, which is why it's rated TV-14 and of course, if there's violence, there will be blood. After all, HTF is not a kid's show like I stated earlier. As a matter of fact, HTF is a very popular flash cartoon.

The art of the characters is pretty good though I admit.

People compare it to itchy and scratchy, its not far off. I got given a DVD of it for a birthday a few years ago and while it was amusing for it bit, it got a bit stale after 15-20 minuets. Methods of death were creative but most of the time they weren't that funny. For that reason its good if you in the particular mood to see something graphically and comically dismembered but for animated, non-verbal animal based humour of a slapstick nature, nothing beats the Fred Quimby directed Tom and Jerrys.

The show itself is mostly black comedy and I even I didn't find anything humorous. It does get boring after watching several of the deaths of the characters, since it's pretty much the same thing over and over, which is probably why the character Flippy isn't show as much.

Aww, I love those cute little guys.

I'd hug them but I'm afraid they'd pop like a zit
