These are some old Bomberman toys I got out of a gumball machine as a little kid, and I still love them...

Just thought it would be something cool to share with everyone.

Early B-Daman craps... I never saw any of that stuff as a kid. I wasn't even aware that stuff was around in the states.

It's b-daman? Cool, I didn't know it was based on that. Also, I got them in a gumball machine years ago at Kmart that had only Bomberman characters in it. I always wanted the Golden Bomber which I never did get. Also, I never saw a Black Bomber in the machine, but assuming it exists, I didn't get that one either.

Also, I have some that I broke as a kid that are not in the picture.

I had one or two that did have the pink version of the ball but they are broken. I'll have to find my box of broken Bomberman toys sometime but I really have no clue where to start looking.

If I found it though, I could probably take the parts off of some of the broken ones, and use them to fix some of the others.

Its got to be either a bdaman toy or a fake bdaman toy. Do we know of any other marble launching toy lines?

They were in gumball machines, and everything. At multiple stores too. The one I got them all from was kmart, but I remembered also seing them at a food store as well once, but I didn't have my quarters with me.

Not a normal toyset or toyline. I've seen the bdaman toys and they are similar but not quite the same.

lol we call gumball machines any type of dispenser that you put a quarter into and you get an item from inside it. Sometimes it's toys inside a little plastic ball and candy is often inside of them. Originally they were meant for candied balls of chewing gum, hence the name.

Here's a picture.

I got one of those with my copy of B-Daman. It was transparent gold (rather yellowish, but the idea, according to the box, was that it was gold).

That sounds like what I was talking about above as the Golden Bomber. It was more yellow, but meant to be a Gold Bomberman.

Anyway, what's with the idea of gumball machine toys being fakes? Is this a common practice that I'm un-aware of? If it's something that is done often, then the possibility of being fake would make more sense, although they feel as if they aren't.

Maaaan, you had Bomberman in your gumball machines? I wish we had those here. I still like getting the little rubber ninjas even now, although they took those out of Wal*Mart here....

Which reminds me, there are fake rubber ninjas in gumball machines, just as you guys are talking about fakes. If you know what I'm talking about. You can tell which ones are the original, classic ones. But I've never heard of fake gumball machine toys modeled after a big name like Bomberman or Pokerman.

*shrugs* i never have been one to overly trust the authenticity of 25 cent trinkets shipped straight from china. Its not like it would be a remarkably difficult counterfeit operation.

There is no limit to the shoddy quality gear you can buy in quarter vending machines here in the United States. My favorite to see and laugh at are called "playerz" or whatever, with some odd horrible spelling. Each one is a different character and they all are horrible shape. The only thing remotely bomberman I ever found had come inside some sort of egg thing and it looked just like Bomberman but had a HUGE melon head like Stewie Griffen, and the body, arms, and legs sort of folded into the head somehow if I remember correctly. That or it came in pieces and you put it together. It has been years now. I stashed it with my other game toys so it's in the garage somewhere...

It has a sliver of mouth though, so it really is a poor Bomberman figure if that is in fact what they intended to make it. It can be seen in the upper right of this old image I found:
