That and I was making some noob mistakes. lol After going through the video I noticed that. I was saying "Why did I just do that?" Or how sometimes I was being too cautious when I could've killed someone. Oh well. lol
It was interesting when the Jody (the host) commented on PichiBear how he'd sit on bombs and move at the last second. Who do you think taught PichiBear that? :P |

Yeah, for moves I taught him..
She mentioned "I've seen both him and gh0stly do it but Pichi does it more".
Speaking of which, I was trying to get some chains set up as well as delayed kicks, but damn revenge bombs would always mess up the plan. |

At least you can be cautious. My style of playing most of the time is insane recklessness. It allows me to do some amazing things when I take chances and get mind-blowing kills, but I die more than a player of my skill level should.
It's always in the back of my mind that I need to play more cautiously than I do and be less of a show-off, but I rarely play a more safe style of bombing unless certain events happen in which my mind automatically does so. (for example if it's me and one other person playing the walls are getting tight and I have no bomb kick or punch or anything like that and need to stay alive)
Usually, I don't play a completely reckless style though. That would be just stupid. But whatever my play style would be considered, it's far from cautious. |

Well battle mode competition has always been a balance between caution and reckless. It's all about going to the edge but not going over the cliff. Like whoever is brave enough to lay that last bomb in a chain without suiciding. Usually I'm good at staying at the edge. Because let's be honest, if you're a habitual kamikazier people tend to discredit you (and most likely would kick you from the game).
Either extreme is dangerous. In my case it cost me a few games. I dunno if it was just cause of the finals, but in the previous rounds I wasn't playing so cautiously (ex: the guy who got 2nd place in the finals with 4 wins I beat him 5-2 in the semi finals). The announcers touched on it too about the cautiousness. |
