Hey all! Recently it seems we have a lot of newcomers here, to which I say, Welcome!

So here's a topic that I've been curious about: what started your interest in the Bomberman series? For me, it was the N64 games (Hero in particular.) Over a decade ago I discovered this site and the wiki, and just figured I'd start looking deeper. Now in present day, here I am still digging things up.

How about you folks?

i found the series when me and my older brother were looking for games to rent for our n64. i saw bomberman 64 and thought the character looked cute so we picked it up along with majoras mask. i felll in love with the series then but didnt know there was hero or second attack since i never saw them in the store. the next game i got to play was jetters on the game cube and still own the copy i got for my birthday;; the rest is history since i found the anime.

ive seen the board when i was looking up stuff before but i never made an account since i was anxious;; but here i am now!

You found B64 the exact same way I did! Don't recall how we found the other to N64 games, but we ended up buying all 3 plus Generation for the Gamecube. Bomberman became one of my favorite characters from the moment we played the first one.

I saw the commercial for Bomberman 64 on TV as a kid and wanted to play it.

Bomberman, Bomberman, fastest shotgun across the land. 🎶
Makes a bomb, any size, and he's yours to customize. 🎶
Look out. Your very own Bomberman. 🎶

I played Super Bomberman again after not touching anything after Tournament for a while (loved that game by the way). After that I played its sequels and gradually got more curious about other games and the franchise as a whole.

Unofficially, I played BM64 multiplayer at a not-cousin's house and had fun, but when my dad pointed it out in Montgomery Ward's electronics department while we were out shopping one day I was like "nah, I'm good." Then I think we restarted our Nintendo Power subscription after it lapsed during the NES days and the very first issue I got featured Hero on the cover.** So Hero got me invested, but then TSA came along (which I did also learn about from Nintendo Power) and blew up my heart completely.

**I think I may in fact have the order of my Hero/BM64 experience switched, but it sure makes a neater story this way.
***I also still haven't properly played through BM64 after all this time. Last I remember I somehow got stuck on the third stage of Green Gardens.

Well iirc the first bomberman game I played was on the PS3- I was a young kiddo.
Then later on (still a kid but older), I got into bomberman 64 and would play with family.
I also remember getting hooked on the boss characters in 6th grade.

Fast forward many many years later, I got re-interested! Guess it was fate or something.

I played a lot lot of Super Bomberman 1 to 5 on SNES with my cousins (here in Brasil we had some bootleg japanese cartriges, so Super Bomberman was all acessible!) :flame:

Than I played 64 and Hero and loved it very very much at that time! :star:  :star:

After that... Unfortunaly I lost touch with the series for almost... 15 years(?!) and kinda forgot all the time I spendt playing it (I even created a character on my little comics that was just Bomberman with other name, because I liked it a lot as a kid).

Then... Well, then Bomberman Journey happened on YouTube and, watching it I felt like I rediscovering part of me that I lost. It was revelating and since that I started searching, fidind little new things and even bought a new game (Oh, why it has to be SBR2?! It's a good game, but...). That's how I found this board and even entered a Discord server that I regulary check (a first for me)

Sorry, I talked a lot. But it was, in some aspects, a long journey for me

Hello, if i were to say what started my interest in the series, it's the Java mobile games of Bomberman, most importantly, Bomberman 3D, 3D Bomberman Atomic, Bomberman Supreme, Super Bomberman and Bomberman deluxe. These games has been my childhood, i played them since i was 8, and now coming back to my interest of the series. I started playing the other original classic bomberman games such as Bomberman 1 and 2 on NES, all bomberman pc engine games, saturn bomberman, and all super bomberman games on snes.

I found about bomberman 64 during the 2010's (not sure what exact date, but before 2013-14) thanks to a friend, I did had play some of the super bomberman stuff before and the first game but never really took too big of an interest...

But this one did, because of the character designs, I found them really charming and here I am now, back in 2026 drawing a lot of bomberman 64 stuff.

It holds a big place in my heart.
