Hello. I'm Thomas, from the Black Forest in Germany, and I'm currently working on a port of Bomberman 1983 for a VIC-20, the predecessor to the Commodore 64.
There was no Bomberman or Dynablaster for this computer.
Now I'd like to write a Bomberman game based on the original (in BASIC and 6502 assembler). Unfortunately, the VIC-20 can only display a 5x5 grid at a time.
Bomberman (1983, ZX Spectrum, MSX) has a fixed 7x5 grid.
Is this acceptable from the community's perspective (5x5 grid, movable view), or is it not recommended?
Alternatively, I could use Bomberman Special (1985), which also appeared on the MSX and had a 5x5 grid.
I would appreciate your feedback, Thomas.
