Well, if you were making a patch for a previously untranslated game, I would say stay consistent with the previous official translations. If it was the re-translation of an already released game, of course you would want to disregard that and stay true to the Japanese.
But seeing as this is just text and not something that will be in a patch, you can just use both like you just did :wink:
